A Romantic Getaway to Essaouira, Morocco

Essaouira is one of my favorite escapes—especially in March/April when the city is still slow and the salty breeze feels like a reset. It’s romantic, artsy, and just the right mix of adventure and relaxation.

Where To Stay
Salut Maroc feels like you are stepping into a mosaic. The decor, the views, the vibe—it’s perfect for a couples' trip.

My Favorite Things to Do:

  • Wandering the Medina — Hand-in-hand, getting a little lost and shopping for woven baskets and argan oil.

  • Hammam Spa Day at Heure Bleue Palais — A full scrub and massage leaves you feeling completely brand new.

  • Mint Tea at D'jazy Café — Colorful, cozy, and the kind of place you’ll want to sit for hours.

  • Sunset Dinner at Dar Baba — Candlelight, cocktails, and food that’s just chef’s kiss.

  • Beach Walks & Blue Boats — The beach and the fishing port are made for golden hour photos.

Pro Tip: Visit During Festival Season
If you can, plan your visit for June when Essaouira comes alive with the Gnaoua and World Music Festival. This annual event features a mix of traditional Gnaoua music, jazz, reggae, and international artists. The energy in the medina is electric, and the performances—often set against stunning backdrops—make the whole trip even more unforgettable. The 2025 edition is scheduled for June 19-21.

Whether you're celebrating something special or just want to get away, Essaouira is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy each other. Trust me, you’ll leave refreshed, connected, and maybe even glowing.
